12 Days of Christmas Kindness

Day One - Take Christmas cards and stamps to a shut-in

Day Two - Give out Christmas cards with festive tea bags

Day Three - Give out phone cards to the homeless

Day Four - Tip the dishwasher when dining out

Day Five - Treat all your family better than we do strangers

Day Six - Take an elderly neighbor on an evening drive to see the Christmas Lights

Day Seven - Give out Christmas Cards to your neighbors

Day Eight - Take Christmas Treats to the third shift at your nearest Nursing Home

Day Nine - Take extra umbrellas or gloves in your car to give away

Day Ten - Put a train set together for under your tree or on the dining room table

Day Eleven - Pass out fancy shoelaces in Christmas cards to kids

Day Twelve - Pass out Blessing Blankets to the homeless ( pray a blessing over them at home )

Remember, Jesus is enough ... Encouragement is like health food ... it nourishes those who are starving for pleasant memories.  Small acts of kindness can fill in the empty holes.

My sincere prayer is that we would disarm the enemy with daily acts of kindness ...

"I'm not a Chef ..... but, I play one in my kitchen"

1-   What the heck is a gnocchi????    ... a small dumpling made from potatoes & flour
2-   Sweet & Savory ... Sweet & Savory, what the heck does savory mean??? Okay, I give           up.    It's a food that is salty or spicy and isn't sweet in taste ... such as meat or                 vegetable

3-   Whimsical kitchen pot holders make cute ... cute ... coffee coasters

My 85 year old mother would make a great president ...

She's an artistic genius (who appreciates our combined American cultures) ... listens to opposing positions with respect to both (just ask my brother) ... has lived with my dad for 67 years (still in love) ... not tired of our country at the age of 20 ... and not afraid to administer some good smack-down ..

When you are an OCD leaner ... you check your door locks again & again ... then once again right before bed ... Your medicine cabinet is way too orderly ... towels folded just so on the shelf (that no one can see) ... etc. ... etc. ... I'm a leaner :)

Us OCD leaners don't hang our clothes on color coordinated hangers ... well, unless they're available :)

We OCD leaners also keep our empty jigsaw puzzle boxes even when the puzzle is done ... glued and framed and hanging on the wall. What if I needed it for something ....

We also take our eggs from the carton in a symmetrical fashion

OCD leaners arrange their magazines just-so on their coffee table (heaven forbid someone would want to read one)

OCD leaners don't just toss their mail on a table

We also attempt to arrange our groceries in our cart while shopping ... Yikes

Don't Just Let Life Happen to You -

Balance is probably one of the harder things for most of us to achieve ... If we do only service to others and neglect our family, school or work we step out of balance.

We are still serving Christ when we are at school, at work or at play. Being out of balance contributes to the unraveling of our lives.

When we get out of balance we feel:

confused
overwhelmed
frustrated
and fatigued

Through knowing God's Word we can live a life of Balance ... and by using Common Sense.

How do we put Common Sense into practice?  By paying attention ...
